Chronic sinusitis is a swelling and inflammation of nose and head sinuses for three month or longer, despite treatment. This condition interferes with the way mucus normally drains, and makes your nose stuffy
It is a common disease in children but may be under diagnosed due to the similarity of symptoms with common cold and allergies.
Cough and nasal discharge may be the only symptoms present in children. Children tend to have a greater infectious component compared to adults.

Otomar benefits
Nasal saline irrigation plays a major role in the treatment of Chronic Sinusitis. It helps thinning the mucus, decreasing swelling and cleaning the hard secretions to prevent infection
Studies have shown that nasal irrigation with hypertonic solutions 3 times a day for one month improves the clinical and radiological status among children with chronic sinusitis.
Research suggests that Hypertonic saline irrigation leads to better symptom control over isotonic solutions in Chronic Sinusitis.
It is an effective first line treatment for pediatric CS and subsequent nasal symptoms. It has been shown to decrease the need for surgery and CT imaging.
